SEEDS IN YOUR HOMETOWN

A Workshop for Local Churches

Dean Reynolds, founder and director of Seeds Wilderness Therapy, extends an invitation to provide a free workshop for families at your church and describes some of the topics presented.

Why host a workshop?

The world is a challenging place for teenagers to grow up.

  • Suicide is the second leading cause of death among young people.
  • Since Covid, one out of four young people is experiencing depression and one out of five has anxiety.

Young people today are experiencing things that parents have never even heard of. And all these pressures are pulling families apart. Parents report not knowing where to turn. Some kids may need more specialized therapeutic intervention, but we also believe that under every issue or behavior, the basic need is still love and connection.

At Seeds, we want to help families learn how to really love and connect with each other, so we can be transformed into the people God intends us to be.

About Seeds Wilderness Therapy

Tucked away in the mountain plateaus around Montrose, Colorado, Seeds Wilderness Therapy is the first Christian wilderness therapy program in the United States.

Wilderness therapy is a highly successful intervention for teens who are facing mental health or addiction issues. By combining the best wilderness therapy practices with the hope of Jesus, Seeds has dramatic results in restoring teens who are struggling with these challenges to a life of purpose.

Our hope is to bring some transformational therapeutic resources right to the families within your church.

About Dean

With over 15 years of working with youth at risk in wilderness settings, Dean is a firm believer in the power of restoration in an individual’s life through wilderness counseling. After working in the secular wilderness therapy field, Dean felt the Lord inviting him to start a program with Jesus at the center.

Dean founded Seeds Wilderness Therapy, with the first season opening to teens in crisis in 2020. He is ordained through the Christian Missionary Alliance, and has a heart for seeing families find renewal in Jesus as they learn tools for healthy relationships.

The Workshop:

Tools for Transforming Relationships

Topics include:

  • How do we build relational connection that leads to life transformation?

  • How to create a culture of healthy feedback
  • Disciplining with logical and natural consequences
  • Growing in personal emotional intelligence and awareness

We will also provide resources for families who may have teens with more severe and pressing needs requiring therapeutic intervention.
